Shane O'Neill & Colin Humphrey got away quiet early in the race and managed to keep the peleton at bay all the way to the end finishing with a 40 second advantage. A group of around eight riders did get away and at one point it looked as through they would bridge the gap only to be held up by a slow moving wagon, which gave the peleton the chance to reel them back in. St Helens riders Stewart Dwyer, Craig Eden, Jeff Freeman & Harry McNally all finished in the main peleton and John Rigby was a DNF

The race was won by Stephen Baillie (Withington Wheelers) who won the sprint from a group of four riders who had made the break around half distance. They were followed home 30 seconds later by another smalll group of 3 riders who had the rest of the peleton on there heels,with Peter Ware given 12th and Col Hodgson 13th. Peter Jones and Jeff Freeman both finished in the peleton and from were I was standing Jeff Freeman came over the over the line 4th which would of given him 11th position put it appears that the officals missed him. I myself at to climb off after 11 laps due to cramp.

Note from Craig Eden
 I would like to thank all the club members and especially the club sponsors for their support in helping to fund my trip. I managed to finish 36th overall out of 52. The road race was very difficult it hard a hard climb in it, we did 11 laps of the circuit so the overall race distance was 66 miles. I was going well for eight laps but then cramped up really badly on the climb and had to climb off for a few minutes and then cramped up again a few minutes later so had to stop again. But I managed to climb back on and finish the race. After the road race there was 13 of us all on the same GC time, so I new if I had a good ride in the crit I could jump up a few places. Ramsey crit Sunday morning raining hard and very windy, managed to miss a big crash on the fifth lap, not like me! Worked hard and finished in a group of five and climbed to 36th overall on GC. Had a really good time and would once again like to thank D.Sparrow Plumbing and Heating Services, A.T Joinery, Neilsigns, Thatto Cycles and Eccleston Ceramics. I would also like to thank Unifrax Ltd- Rainford, Newbreed Frieght Ltd and PWG Fabrications for their part in the trip.

A few small atacks all the way through the race with no effect on the bunch until 9 laps to go when a group of 5 riders Tony Parkinson , Andrew Wright , JOHN RIGBY , Joe Martin and Paul Thursfield went clear. They had 45 seconds on the bunch with 5 laps to go but after that the gap reduced by 10 seconds every lap resulting in a bunch sprint for the line with the very active Tony Greenhalgh MAXGEAR RT sprinting clear
