Anyone going on the mountain bike ride on Sunday (12/11/2007). The meeting point is M56 Services (Chester Zoo turn off) at 8.30am

Turbo-charge Your Training with Coach4bike.co.uk
Structured Quality Turbo Training Sessions with a British Cycling Qualified Cycling Coach. Staring Wednesday 24th October 2007 at the United Reform Church, St Helens. Sessions run from 7pm to 9pm. The cost of the session will be Ł4.00.

National Championship 25-3June 2007
At last all but one of the follow up jobs for the National Champ 25 have been completed, the final job is for me to thank you and the members of St Helens CRC for your efforts in marshalling at Rainford Island. I'm sure you will agree that the event turned out to be a success but that could only have been the case with the help from clubs like yours. You also contributed extra effort as an offcial Checker which was much appreciated.

Seeing that the Anfield 100 had been cancelled and with the weather outlook for Sunday and Monday looking grim, I decided to ride out to Lower Withington and take part the TLI Cheshire Spoco TT League. Like a club event you sign on the line and ride. Then after you can tuck into the cakes and sandwiches. The course is pretty flat round the local country lanes. You do two laps and is ideal for riding with your road bike. After my fill I got back on the bike and rode home. 80 miles completed and I got to stay in bed on Sunday morning instead of getting up for a good soaking on the club run.

They are sportive type events organised by Mark Laithwaite (ABC), both around 130K, only Ł10 to enter. Details can be found on the web site theendurancecoach.com

Chaingang
The chaingang @ Knowsley Industrial estate as started. The chaingang will continue every tuesday/thursday from now on. Meet outside Kodak @ 6.55pm for a 7.00pm start The chainy will last an hour with a sprint on the last lap. When the numbers increase it will be split into A and B groups

Turbo Training
The turbo sessions will start next Wednesday, 10th January 2007 at the United Reform Church in St Helens, 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start and finish for 8.30pm at the latest. There is a carpark at the rear of the church which can be accessed by turning left at the YMCA roundabout into Duke St and then 1st left. If coming along Duke St from Windle side of Town turn right after D Sparrows shop and the car park is straight ahead.
You will need to bring with you the following. Bike, Turbo, Extension Lead if your turbo needs power, a towel, cycling kit and Ł4 in nice shiny Ł1 coins!
The sessions will be structured and will vary each week. It will help if you know your maximum heart rate, if you are not sure get in touch with me and we can either work it out for you or come up with a predicted heart rate for you to work to.
The sessions will help you to get the most from your turbo trainer, take away some of the fear that many riders have regarding turbo training and help you on the way to a faster 2007.
